We are proud to be a Carbon Neutral Business. We’ve worked hard to ensure all our carbon-impacting activity is offset correctly and we work closely with Carbon Neutral Britain to ensure transparency around where our carbon credits are spent. Our status as a carbon neutral business is verified by the UN via their Framework Convention on Climate Change and we are happy to share a copy of our certificate on request. Read on to find out more about our approach to the environment, climate and sustainable business processes.
“Sky Revolutions is a rapidly growing company, and we know how easy it can be to sideline processes that don’t immediately impact day-to-day operations. But becoming carbon neutral was important to our whole team and we felt this was something we wanted to prioritise. We embarked on our carbon neutral journey in 2021 and are now aiming to become carbon negative by 2030.”
Ben Gorham, Director
Carbon Neutral
This year, our carbon credits are supporting three key projects; the Burgos Wind Farm Project in the Philippines, a hydroelectric power project in the Amazon, and a Rice Husk power project in Cambodia.
The Burgos Wind Farm project in Ilocos Norte is the biggest wind farm in the Philippines and the first wind project nominated for the Philippine Government’s feed-in-tariff scheme. The wind farm generates approximately 370GWh of electricity a year, which is used to power more than 2 million households. It offsets approximately 200,000t of CO2 emissions annually.
We aim to forge close links with all of the projects we support – check back soon for updates on all three projects.
Energy Self-sufficient
We focus on the use of carbon-free technology in the delivery of our core products and services. All our timelapse and site monitoring cameras are energy self-sufficient, powered by state-of-the-art solar panel systems and capable of taking up to 6,000 high-resolution images, without sunshine.
Aside from removing the need for helicopters, we’re helping to keep wind farms and solar farms running efficiently by providing quicker-than-ever inspection and monitoring services. And in the longer term, we’re playing our part in helping suppliers to lower their costs, making green energy more accessible to more people.
Being carbon neutral means more to us than simply buying carbon credits. We’ve established a range of activities this year including:
A commuting car share scheme – so our cars are always as full as possible, and our car parks as empty as possible.
Introduction of a new app to manage our work orders – completely removing the need for paper-based surveyor communications.
A focus on becoming a completely paper-free office.
Introduction of a new supply chain policy where we encourage our suppliers and partners to provide sustainable services.
Introduction of a new approach to equipment decommissioning, including the recycling of cameras.
Counting the volume of waste recycled from all our operations!
